Posters are a battleground for graphic designers where they can fight out new ideas, norms, and visuals identities, says German designer Sascha Lobe. Poster design represents a discourse on the role of visual communication; a forum to experiment and try out new ideas, and to provide a creative kick to the design world, which is so often dominated by Corporate Design. Poster design provides a way back to the roots of graphic design where creative ideas come to existence, a personal way back to the reason why we design. Posters that have this spirit, demonstrating genuinely new and creative ideas, will be recognized in the annual competition of the 100 best posters in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
